What is a Rootkit

Rootkits are infiltrations into your system like a virus or spyware but MUCH more destructive. It is almost impossible to clean them out of a system. Virus scanners are basically useless against them. Some can find them but NONE of them can get rid of one if you have a rootkit on your system.

They were made famous by SONY and put onto many of their music CDs for "copy protection" but now are being used by people to make various version of them just like people make viruses.
