Why Is It Needed?
Just like a car needs an oil change every so often the computer needs one too to keep it in tip top condition.

How Often Do I Need It?
Every 6 months to 1 year.

What Do You Do?
Make sure all the programs are up to date.
Make sure all patches for Windows are current.
Check for any Spyware and Viruses.
Check the File System for any errors.
Check Windows for any System File inconsistencies.
Delete all temporary files. (They are in more then one place)
Make the computer as secure as possible.
Look for and eliminate unneeded programs.
Defragment the system.
Check if any programs are bogging the system down.
